1930s SENIOR TT COMPETITION COAT
Featuring radio frequency taped seams: this style was one for the first motorcycle riders coat Belstaff produced. Influenced by early aviation styles, but reinterpreted in vulcanised rubber, this became a key Belstaff fabric of the 1930's.
1970s TRIALMASTER XL500
The XL500 range was introduced in the 1970’s offering a smart, warm lined, nylon suit. Clearly styled on the lines of the famous four-pocket Trialmaster Professional jacket.
Britton was a sub-label for country attire created by Belstaff, which embraced the company’s experimental attitude to fabrics for weatherproofing. This example is made of Gortex, a fabric originally developed and adopted by the US military.
1970s BONNINGTON PARKA
Sir Chris Bonington collaborated over a two year period on a number of pieces with Belstaf under the “Great British Weatherproofs” title from 1976. This example was a simple lightweight, nylon shelled zip up.
1980s RAINSUIT PARKA
Black nylon featherweight rain suit, incredibly lightweight and innovative for its time, whilst still using traditional British weather wear taped seam techniques.
1990s STORMSHIELD JACKET
Belstaff introduced Stormshield sporting jackets in the 1970’s initially as part of the country wear offering. Though it became more synonymous with the motorcycle collection, as this futuristic early 1990’s example shows.
